Take a boat tour or canoeing if you feel a bit more sporty, followed by exploring the Château de Beynac. Picnic lunch at the Jardin Marqueyssac overlooking the valley and Castle. Then continue exploring this garden which is listed as a National Historical Monument and offers more than 6 km of shaded paths and hedged with 150,000 hand-pruned boxwoods some over hundred years old.
Visiting one of the sacred places in France, Rocamadour which offers a unique religious history dated back around 70AD. This magnificent village is situated atop a rocky plateau overlooking the Alzou Valley. The architecture and spectacular views point is something to experience. After lunch, the adventure continues with a visit to The Gouffre de Padirac, an incredible cave system containing an underground river, gorge and huge cavern.
Today is all about food. You will explore our local markets in the region. Sarlat market is heaven for food lovers and depending on the season you can find fresh foie gras, the famous cèpe mushrooms, magret (duck breasts), confit (conserves of duck or goose), truffles, walnuts, strawberries and countless other delicious local products to tempt the visitor’s taste buds. After lunch, the food exploration continues by visiting a local farm.
Explore our village Domme, founded in 13th century and voted one of the most beautiful villages in France. It offers stunning view over the Dordogne River, activities such as visiting the cave under Domme, petit train ride, learn life as it was in Périgord in the last centuries at the museum of L'Oustal du Périgord, visit Templier prison and check out our local boutiques which are just steps away from out house.
Visit a Grotte (Cave) which has authentic prehistoric paintings dated to about 30,000 years ago, some are among the oldest figurative drawing in France. Picnic lunch at vineyard and followed by visiting the village of Montpazier, another one of the most beautiful villages in France, for some light shopping.
